A lot of today’s homes come with bland, unremarkable ceiling lights. Swapping those out for something with more uniqueness and style is a fairly easy way to make a big impact with a small light! We helped influencer Emily with a ceiling light makeover in her home–and we think the results look fantastic.
Emily was looking to change out two boring, blah ceiling lights that are located fairly close to each other (in fact, there are certain angles where you can see both of them at the same time). That’s a good time to pick out ceiling lights that are similar, but not totally matchy-matchy. That way, you look like a total design genius!
She did just that, choosing a Crystorama Graham 3-light ceiling light and a Trade Winds Fremont 3-light ceiling light, both in sleek goes-with-anything black finishes. The Graham has a cool circular pattern on its shade and the Fremont has an edgy mesh top shade. Graham is a semi-flush mount, meaning it hangs down from the ceiling just a little bit, while the Fremont is a flush mount that stays snug to the ceiling.
Without further ado, let’s check out the lights!
The sleek, not-too-fancy look of the Graham fits in well with other design touches in this hallway, like the black stair railing, the distressed black entry table, the black-framed photos, the message board and the white wainscoting.
At the end of the hallway, Fremont plays nicely with the existing decor touches and pops nicely against the lovely encouraging wall art. (We all deserve to read and internalize that!)
“Who knew that a simple light fixture could make an area look so much better?” Emily asks. She also had a genius idea–every so often, maybe we should all just get down on the floor and look up to assess how things look from that angle. An exercise like that might just lead to you feeling a need for new ceiling lights! ?
