Candle Wall Sconces

Candle wall sconces - LightsOnline.com

When it comes to home lighting and decor, there is hardly anything more romantic and rustic than candle wall sconces. Offering an irresistible vintage style and a warm, inviting glow, candle wall sconces are great for punctuating smaller spaces. Some candle wall sconces mimic the look of actual candles, spotlighting chubby "votives" and sometimes even including dripping "wax" for the full effect. However, others are more streamlined and modern. Some feature crystals and others don't. No matter what, you're sure to find beautiful candle wall sconces that will light you up and fit your style.

Here are some popular ideas for incorporating candle wall sconces into your lighting scheme:

  • Dining Rooms. Rather than traditional buffet lamps, consider using candle wall sconces to create a classic look and accentuate your beautiful dining room features. If you have a mirror above your buffet table, candle wall sconces look dazzling when placed on either side of it. Hint: You'll want to make sure that your candle sconces are wired separately from the main light source in your dining room, like the chandelier, so the sconces can be operated independently of the ambient lighting. You may also want to consider placing the sconces on a dimmer switch. This will allow you to fully customize the mood, letting your candles glow at full blast or softening the light, depending on what's appropriate.
  • Bedrooms. Candle wall sconces look great on either side of a vanity mirror. Because of their open light, they emit an even and flattering illumination, making them a great choice for quality light in makeup application. Candle wall sconces are also a fantastic, moody choice for use over your nightstand in place of a lamp. For even more reading light, consider a two-light sconce.
  • Hallways and Stairwells. Hallways and stairwells can be tricky to light correctly, but with candle wall sconces you can illuminate these tight spaces with a dash of style. If you have kids, you will probably want to avoid using candle wall sconces with sharp edges. The safest options are ADA-compliant, which means they extend no more than 4" from the wall. ADA-compliant sconces are also a good choice for small spaces, whether or not there are any kids!
  • Bathrooms. Wall fixtures are becoming a popular way to replace vanity lights in the bathroom. Candle wall sconces are an excellent choice because they offer an even spread of light, which is very flattering. You may want to consider using a frosted bulb with candle wall sconces in the bathroom so the light is not harsh.
