Solid, Silent and built to last

This is a VERY robust fan built with quality material. We just experienced a severe wind storm that swept across the country knocking out power in some areas and damaging structures. Our previous fan suffered catastrophic damage last year which was why we replaced it. I was primarily interested in the Hunter original because it is 3x heavier (approx 45lbs) and is built like an industrial motor with cast iron parts. This fan is solid, silent and barely moved at all in the extreme winds. I recognize it comes at a premium cost, but your money is paying to machine or cast parts instead of plastic.

A silent workhorse.

I have a Hunter Original that has been in continuous operation (24/7/52) for 7 years and going strong! It is as silent and powerful as the day it was installed. Without a doubt, hands down, the finest ceiling fan available. No chintzy, lightweight, modern fan can come close. Be sure to install it in a heavy duty ceiling box, and if you want a speed control, you MUST use the control that Hunter specifies, but you are better off using the pull chain to set it and forget it. When we move, I will take my Hunter Originals with me and leave the new owners regular old run of the mill fans.
